Where is my Google Business customer review link?

If you are reading this article, it is likely that you want to send your clients a link to review your business on Google.

We all know how important Google reviews are and all of the yummy benefits that they can give us in reward for our hard work looking after customers. Some of the benefits include:

-Gaining customers trust

-Boosting conversion rate

-A better ranking with Google

Did you try to leave a review on your business in hope of finding a review link to send to others?

If you did, it’s not there. *sad face*

Google does not give you a URL link that you can copy and send to clients. Not using this method anyway. All you will see is a pop-up box like the one below. Don’t worry though, there are two ways to get around it and we will take you through how to get yours.

Option 1) Get your Place ID

To receive your Position ID you need to go to the Google Developer section of their site. (Ps. don’t be put off by this – it is a super easy process!)

  1. Click here to go to the Place ID Finder
  2. Type the name of your business into the ‘enter a location’ section to find the name of your business
  3. Select it from the list.
  4. Your place ID will appear on the map.
  5. Add your Place ID to the following URL to create the review direct link:

https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=

Using the example of Northampton Train Station above, the URL with the Place ID added would be:

https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ChIJ69kHKeQOd0gRFZqBS6d5x_E
Now if someone clicks the link and want to review Northampton Train Station, a window will open in their browser. They’ll be able to rate and leave a review instantly.

https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ChIJ69kHKeQOd0gRFZqBS6d5x_E

Option 2) Use a third party website

When using the method from Option 1, we did find that occasionally, the website would not find the business as it came from a service area with a hidden address. If that happens to you, you will need to use a third-party website to get the link. We came across this one and found that it converted easily and quickly.

What next?

If you want more traffic to your website, send this link to your clients. The more reviews you can get, the better!

  • Ask your customers to leave a review shortly after their purchase.  It is a great time to ask! Send a follow-up email asking about their experience with your product, business or service.
  • Be simple and direct in how you ask for the review.
  • You are not allowed to offer customers discounts or rewards in exchange for your review. This could get your business banned so be careful!

Now that you have finished reading this, go get your link and tell the world how awesome you are! You won’t regret it.
