Do I need a PR list of 380+ Health & Wellness Editorial Contacts?
Why aren’t my Health & Wellness articles getting read?
It’s safe to say that Wellness is a popular topics in this day and age.
It seems like everyone has a wellness blog these days, doesn’t it?
Well, there is a good reason why…WRITING INTERESTING CONTENT WORKS! Having a blog is a great ways to establish your service or business. It offers value, it informs, educates, engages…plus it’s a lot quicker than writing a book!
But then theres that barrier, a big horrible barrier that ruins everything…. hardly anyone is coming to your website and seeing what you have written *sad face*.
It’s so disheartening, so much work and concentration, down the pan. All that time spent locking yourself away to trigger creative writing inspiration, religiously proofreading to make sure you haven’t made a grammatical error and for what? Hardly anyone to read it and for it to make little difference to your business financially. It sucks… MASSIVELY!
What do I need to do to get people to read my articles?
Sorry, I forgot to mention… blogging works, but only if you are directing traffic to your site by letting people know that the content is there! (I will say ‘people’ not ‘customer prospects’ …it sounds so cold!)
There are lots of awesome ways that you can market yourself to direct traffic to your content, Pay Per Click, SEO, Social Media Advertising, Print Advertising, Digital Marketing but the thing is, all of these things cost money. (Well our marketing solutions are reasonable but that it not the point that I am trying to make here!)
Paying for traffic can be expensive but people forget that PR (Public Relations) is free and (if done well), is VERY effective!
Why bother with PR? Erm… its FREE!
Publicity generated by press releases is FREE. That’s a pretty awesome reason right there! You just need to get your hands on a decent sized and targeted PR media list for your industry, write a good press release and encourage editors, writers, journalists and bloggers to publish it!
Its great to get yourself established as a voice of authority. It builds trust in you, your brand and draws people into what you are doing, making them more likely to buy from you.
Coverage could extend beyond anything you might receive in a paid for quarter page advert, because it offers valuable content that people are going to read out of pleasure, not because they are being sold to. People DO NOT like being sold to!
Most major media outlets get a significant percentage of their stories from local media outlets throughout the world. That’s how the news industry works. One reporter picks up a story, and then it spreads from one publication to the next. When you send a press release out, the goal is to get it published in as many places as possible and attract favourable media attention. When you weigh up the cost of advertising against the value of your time invested in your PR efforts its really a no brainer.
Best thing is, once you have a PR Media list, you can send out press releases to a media list of editors, bloggers and writers again and again. You could maybe even have a chat on the phone and build some rapport to get your articles even more likely to be published. with the aim of getting published in print or online (or both!)
